MallorcaAmateur Open international chess tournament
Any player with a FIDE rating below 1800 on the list of October 1, 2026, may participate; it is necessary to have a valid federation license.
Players will be ranked in the following manner:
- Firstly, according to their standard FIDE rating
- If they do not have a FIDE rating, they will be placed at the end in alphabetical order.
The registration fee is €30. Those interested can register by filling out the registration form, via WhatsApp at 667 246 104, or by email at info@winterchess.com, indicating their full name, FIDE code, club, email, and phone number.
For organizational reasons and due to a possible limitation of spots, registrations will close on September 30, and will be accepted in order of registration.
For this group, there is a total prize fund of €800, which is distributed as follows.

Observations
The prizes must be collected in person by the winner at the closing ceremony; if the winner fails to do so, the prize will be considered void.
Players who turn 50 years old during 2026 are considered veterans.
Prizes are not cumulative; in the case of qualifying for two prizes, the one of greater value will be awarded first, or, failing that, the more important one, understanding that the general prizes are awarded first, followed by the veteran, female, then under-18, under-16, under-14, and under-12.
The games will be played with 60 minutes for the entire game, plus 30 seconds per move from the first move, for each of the players.
Players may request a total of 2 half-point Byes up to round 6.
In order for the Bye in the penultimate round to be counted, it must be requested before the end of the second game round.
Byes are not allowed in the last round.
The matches are scheduled to be played as follows

The tournament will take place in the halls of the Hotel GPRO Valparaiso Palace & SPA *****, located at 23 Francisco Vidal Sureda Street, Palma de Mallorca; see the location for more details.
The following tiebreakers will be applied in the order listed below.
1- Head-to-head result
2- Buchholz minus the worst result
3- Total Buchholz
4- Sonneborn-Berger
5- Recursive Performance
